For this recipe, I use only 3 main ingredients and 1 optional ingredient, that’s why this caramel pudding recipe is very easy and simple to make.
- 1 Liter of milk
- 1/2 Cup of sugar (1/4 cup for caramel and 1/4 cup added with the egg mixture)
- 3 Eggs (at room temperature)
- 2 Pieces of cardamom (Optional)
Substitutions for Ingredients
Milk can be substituted with powder milk that can be very easy and simple substitute for everyone.
Sugar can be substituted with stevia or erythritol, and there are many other substitutes available on the market for those who want to make a low-calorie option.
Cardamom is an optional ingredient in my pudding recipe; alternatively, you can use vanilla extract for a different flavor.
In my opinion, eggs are a main ingredient in pudding recipes and there is no substitute for them.

How Do You Make Caramel Pudding Step by Step?
Here, I am showing you the easiest method for making caramel pudding. Just follow each step and you can create the perfect caramel pudding that will become a favorite dessert for you and your family.
1st Step
Heat 1 liter of milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add 2 cardamoms for flavor when milk heating.
When cardamoms flavor added on milk then separate them from milk.
Reduce the milk to half by simmering it until it becomes creamy.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the milk cool until it reaches room temperature.
To make the caramel, mix ¼ cup of sugar and a small amount of water in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
Stir the mixture until it turns a light amber color.
Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the caramel into the bottom of a pudding container.
2nd Step
In a mixing bowl, beat 3 eggs and add ¼ cup of sugar. Mix until the sugar is fully dissolved.
In another mixing bowl, combine the reduced milk and the egg mixture. Whisk the ingredients together until well combined.
Pour the mixture into the pudding container.
Then place the container on a stand in a larger saucepan filled with water.
Cover the pudding container with a lid and cook over low heat for 30 to 40 minutes.
After the pudding is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Then, place the pudding in the refrigerator for 2 hours to chill before serving.
Tips for Achieving the Perfect Caramel Pudding
